Abstract
Research is being carried out as to check the combined effect of ayurvedic medicine along with the allopathic medicines. This can be very useful as the effectiveness of the allopathic treatment would increase and the risk of the side effects would decrease. Ayurveda (use of natural substances) has been traced back in ancient India when there were no commercial medicines available. Still, for certain infections, skin rashes, treatment at home level by use of substances like ginger, turmeric is done.
Skin & throat infections leave a person in a state of great discomfort. As an expected response according to the human tendency, antibiotics are what the person demands. Microorganisms are responsible for such type of infections and killing them would free the person of the pain. Apart from the commercially available antibiotics, is there anything that can help kill them? Something natural? Yes, there are other options available that can help free the person from infection. This minor study was carried out to check if there really occur any natural substances that can stop the infections.
Staphylococcus aureus & Staphylococcus pyogenes are pathogens that have been the cause of skin infections and rashes, were used from the stock cultures of the laboratory. Home remedies like Aloe vera, ginger, tulsi that are employed at domestic level to treat such infections were checked for their effectiveness.Penicillin g was used as the commercial antibiotic for comparison and it was tested against these pathogens. The results of both Home remedies and Commercial antibiotics were then compared.
